Recently, Miami has been pushing to defund and sideline this liberal arts education, even in a time when the threat of artificial intelligence (AI) is making it more important.
My first opinion piece for the paper, it involved a lot of research into trends in higher education and the changes at the university. This piece picked up a lot of traction and was shared on social media by the university's union.

In April, seven majors – classical studies, French, German, Italian, Russian, East European and Eurasian studies, and East Asian languages and culture were merged into the new World Languages and Cultures major.
Now, more programs are in the process of being removed.
My first major investigative article, this story involved interviewing or getting comments from seven people and broke news that faculty members told me they were not aware of before.

The votes have been cast and the results are in – current city council members William Snavely and Jason Bracken will be joined by incumbents Amber Franklin and Alex French and new members James Vinch and Roxanne Ornelas.
This article required me to work quickly to prepare for and interview the new city council members the morning after they won the election. These were some of my first interviews, so I had to learn a lot in the feild.
